You can hear sound clips of various Arconti guitars and basses here as they become available. Check back for new additions as time goes on and more projects become realized.

Please allow time for the sound clips to load as they are CD quality MP3 files. If you are asked to OK running ActiveX controls, click "OK."

All clips are recorded without any effects except a touch of amp reverb.
Celestialis six-string guitar
Here are three sound clips of this instrument being played by guitarist (and brother) Ken Arconti in a series of blues improvisations. These were recorded into a Roland VS1824 DAW through a Shure SM-57 microphone and without any mixing, added effects (except amp reverb) or editing. HIs guitar is played through the clean channel of a Fuchs Overdrive Supreme 50-watt amp with two 12" Tone Tubby hemp cone Alnico speakers. Each clip demonstrates four bars each of three different settings on the guitar as noted. "Drum" courtesy of Ken's Boss RC-50 Loop Station.

Ken's maple burl-topped six-string
More blues improvisations by Ken Arconti, also recorded into a Roland VS1824 DAW through a Shure SM-57 microphone and without any mixing, added effects (except amp reverb) or editing. Celestialis is likewise played through the clean channel of his Fuchs Overdrive Supreme 50-watt amp with two 12" Tone Tubby hemp cone Alnico speakers. Each clip again demonstrates four bars each of three different settings on the guitar as noted. Same "drum" source.

Maple quilt/black limba six-string
Here are a number of improvisations on this quilt-topped black limba six-string by local guitarist and friend Charlie Thomas. This guitar has three DiMarzio magnetic pickups, each playable in series, parallel and with coils split, as well as a Graph Tech GHOST bridge system that can be played alone or in combination with the pickups, so there are way too many tonal variations to include here. But these eight rather generous clips were settings Charlie liked; hopefully you will too.

These clips were all played through Charlie's 1972 Fender Twin Reverb amp, into a Maxtor MXL 990 condenser mic, through my Behringer Eurorack UB 1202 board and into Acid Pro 6 software on my Cressey custom digital workstation. Other than a bit of reverb from the old Fender amp, no other EQing or mixing was done.

Charlie was like a kid in a candy shop playing around with all the tonal combinations on this guitar. He described the feel of the unusual ziricote fretboard as "silky." He was able to get every imaginable sound out of it from a pure jazz guitar to just the right amount of "Strat pop," from chiming highs to pretty acoustic. Not to mention harmonics on frets you can usually only get them from on basses!
