The Arconti "Living Wood" bass is named for the incredible, naturally green Argentinian lignum vitae wood from which its body and neck are constructed. This is a chambered bass with central maple and wenge laminations running its entire length. The top is spectacularly flamed black walnut, the fretboard pau ferro.
The elegant "twin" below to the maple-top guitar above shares a number of features with it, but has a completely different sound. Its darker, edgier voice resonates from its black limba body and neck, intricately colored black walnut top and pau ferro fretboard. Hardware and features are as described above, but this guitar has gold hardware, a shorter 24-3/4" scale length, the body is 1/2" shorter, it has a tilt-back headstock and a Graph Tech Trem Nut.

Guitar commissioned by Dan Smith, Berkeley, CA singer, guitarist and bassist. See Dan's REVIEW here.

This beautiful six-string has just about as much tonal variation as you could possibly want! Starting with the deep tonal foundation from its black limba body and quilted maple top, its three DiMarzio pickups (Air Norton neck/Fast Track 1 middle/Air Zone bridge) AND Graph Tech GHOST bridge piezo system give you everything from a mellow jazz guitar sound to bright shimmering trebles and then the acoustic sound, alone or blended with the magnetic pickups, from the piezo bridge. Add to that switching so the pickups can run parallel, split coil or series and we're talking serious flexibility. Complete this sonic foundation with the articulation and sustain from the ziricote fretboard and additional stiffening from wenge and yellowheart central laminations and this guitar really performs -- as well as being visually elegant.
Additional features:
Grover mini locking tuners  -  Through-body string mounting with elegant arched ferrules
25.5" scale length  -  Asymmetric neck shape
.80" neck thickness  -  1-11/16" nut width
Compound fretboard radius (10" - 16")  with rolled edges
White mother-of-pearl fret markers  -  White side dots
Medium jumbo frets  -  Graph Tech nut
Pearl capped control knobs - Wenge control cover plate
Custom tail notch  -  Fully rounded edges
Custom contoured neck heel
This true one-of-a-king six-string adds custom visual design to the same great tonal qualities of the quilted maple guitar just below. This time the same configuration of three DiMarzio pickups (Air Norton neck/Fast Track 1 middle/Air Zone bridge) AND Graph Tech GHOST bridge piezo system for unmatched tonal versatility combine with a stunning antique map design, hence the name "Mappa Mundi." The map effect is achieved with a combination of natural black-line spalted maple and inlaid California buckeye burl to suggest water areas. The motif is completed by adding an inlaid compass rosette of walnut, mahogany and yellowheart. The body and neck are mahogany with central maple and walnut laminations; the fretboard is Macassar ebony. While the guitar top and peghead face are glossed to a mirror shine, the body and neck remain satin finished for a beautiful antique furniture look.

It's not only a Tele tonally; it's also just about any other guitar you can imagine as well!
